The calendar is about to flip to September, and the kids are getting ready to return to notebooks and homework. Summer is nearing its end in Bolton Landing on Lake George. While the sun is setting noticeably sooner, there’s still one big time summer bash coming up in town. Labor Day weekend is fast approaching!
The fun begins Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Bolton Landing Farmers Market. Find homemade food items like crepes, baked goods, and pestos. Bring home freshly-picked organic vegetables and pasture-raised meats. Taste rubs, liquors, and more. The Market will also be celebrating their Apple Harvest Festival with apple cider making, and there will be live music by the Heard Band. The Bolton Landing Farmers Market runs from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Cross Street parking lot, behind the town hall in the center of town.
Start your Saturday and Sunday mornings with more shopping at the Bolton Emergency Squad Arts & Crafts Festival. Head to the Cross Street parking lot behind the town hall from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to browse the wares of nearly 30 vendors.
The event of the weekend begins on Sunday evening in Rogers Memorial Park on the south end of Bolton Landing. Master Cylinders, a local favorite playing rock, funk, and blues, will be rockin’ away on the recently-renovated pier from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Either get up close and personal to the music, or bring a blanket to the park and find your own spot on the hill.
When the music ends, the fireworks are about to start! This fantastic show should kick off around 8:00 p.m. Rogers Memorial Park is the best place in town to watch the colors.
