Small Business Saturday – November 30, 2013 – Get Out and Shop Small!!

Welcome customers to shop with you

Small Business Saturday is the first Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30 this year. Started by American Express in 2010, Small business Saturday and is intended to bring renewed attention to our local business, “the heartbeat of our communities”, as well as a vital part of our national economy. Small businesses employ half the private workforce, create 2/3 of net new jobs, have been a strong impetus in recovering jobs lost in the recession, and account for 98% of all business in the country. The money you spend here, stays here – when you shop at independently owned local businesses, 52% of whatever you spend stays right in your community, supporting local organizations and services. And after all, who are the people who are always right there to support community events and organizations? Our local businesses: buying ads for the yearbooks, uniforms for the little league teams, donating money to every community fundraising request and charity. Small businesses often have unique items (especially our businesses in Bolton Landing!) and offer fantastic, personalized service (often hard to find in larger chain stores) because these business really care that the customers and clients they see every day are satisfied and happy.
