The signs of fall are becoming plentiful, and soon beautiful Lake George will reflect all the colors of the Maples, Oaks, and Birches on the mountains. The beauty of this area is unsurpassed and in the autumn is at its finest.
The Bolton Chamber of Commerce has been busy this September, with The Annual Auction Tues. 9/13, which was held at The Sagamore. Thanks to Andy Pratt, DJ, providing music, and who knew Andy was an auctioneer extraordinaire with his jokes and keeping everyone completely entertained. The Sagamore put on a great buffet and I don’t think anyone went home hungry. At the end of the evening the raffle was drawn for the 1st place, all inclusive 3 day stay at the Sagamore, and the 2nd place prize of a fabulous gift basket. Congratulations to the lucky ticket holders #269 and #152.
On Sunday Sept 18 was the open house for the Bolton Visitors Center and the addition to the Bolton Museum. Many visitors and local folks stopped by to see the park and plantings, (still looking beautiful on a gloomy day) while admiring the work and skill that went into both buildings. Everyone enjoyed the irresistible refreshments, which were provided by several Bolton Restaurants. So with the summer season over, and life on a slower pace, it was nice as always seeing familiar faces and catching up with friends.
Now down to the business of clearing your attics, basement and sheds of clutter. Best of all there is a payoff of some extra cash in your pocket. The annual Bolton Town Wide Garage Sale will be held on Columbus Day weekend Sat & Sun 10/8- 10/9. Let us know if you would like to participate and you’ll be included on the maps that can be picked up at the Bolton Chambers Visitors Center. Remember one person’s unwanted item is another’s new treasure, and you never know what will catch someone’s eye. Along with the garage sales, the Arts and Crafts Show will be returning to the Cross St parking lot behind the Bolton Town Hall. That will be in full swing with 34-40 vendors Sat 10/8 and Sun 10/9.

While you’re in Bolton Landing, stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of our great restaurants. If the weather stays nice there’s still time for a picnic at one of our lake side parks, Rogers Park in the center of Bolton Landing or just north in Veteran’s Memorial Park. You’ll find picnic tables and grills to use or stop at one of our deli markets, or pizza shops to fill your picnic basket. After all the good food it’ll be time for a leisurely walk down our Main St to check out the unique shops, and boutiques. Remember the Holiday Season sneaks up fast.
In case you’re a night owl and looking for live music Sat evening, it can be found at Fredrick’s Restaurant next to Tops Market from 10pm till 2 am. Oct 1 and Oct 8
Hope to see you Columbus Day weekend or any other time in Bolton Landing. Whether visiting for the day or longer, you will always feel welcomed.
