September 1st is a reminder that our summer season is drawing to a close and the page is ready to be turned on the summer of 2016. It’s been a real 5 star summer here in beautiful Bolton Landing. Weather has been great, and the new Visitors Center was busy every day. And I must add we seem to have the nicest and most interesting people visiting here. It continues to be a pleasure meeting everyone. We have heard a multitude of wonderful stories that have been shared with us about their experiences in Bolton and the Lake George area; tales anew and those that go back many decades.
However, saying goodbye to summer only means it is time to welcome the new season with its bright blue skies and cooler temperatures. Get out those light jackets and sweaters or stop at Happy Jacks, Happy Jack Kids, Indian Tepee Gift Shop, Local, Serendipity Boutique, Lakeview Trading Company or the Emporium at The Sagamore resort for cozy sweatshirts, sweaters and ball caps.
But wait I’m rushing the time. We still have Labor Day Weekend. Bolton Landing on Lake George will have everything to offer from food, live entertainment to exciting fireworks over the Queen of America’s Lakes. The Farmers’ Market on Friday, September 2nd will be bigger than ever including the bountiful harvest of locally-grown delights. Bolton Arts and Crafts show, as always, will be filled with unique items, creative crafts and designs. Our Craft Show will be opened Saturday, September 3rd and Sunday September 4th. Be sure on Sunday September 4th to get your picnic spot early at Rogers Park to enjoy live music featuring the “Master Cylinders” starting at 5pm and fireworks at 8pm. The weatherman is predicting nice weather so hope to see many visitors to Bolton Landing. Stop into the Visitor’s Center on your way to Rogers Park. It will be good time to pick up brochures to look over for next summer’s vacation and plan for what you may have missed this year. Whatever you choose to do, it will make for a great holiday.
PS: On September 13th, we will be holding the drawing for the 2016 raffle. There’s still time to buy your ticket to win a Grand Prize of a three night all inclusive stay to The Sagamore or 2nd prize of the Bolton gift basket filled with gift certificates and items from our generous members. And to all chamber members, please call and let us know, if you haven’t already done so, when someone can pick up your donations for the Annual Chamber of Commerce Auction. The Auction and dinner will be held at the Sagamore, in the Shelving Rock Terrace Tuesday, September 13th, always a very fun evening.
