The official beginning of summer is right around the corner in Bolton Landing on Lake George. Memorial Day Weekend is fast approaching. The streets will be busy with visitors, restaurants are opening their doors, and the lake is starting to warm up. Bolton Landing is the place to be on the first holiday weekend of the summer!
A successful Memorial Day Weekend has to include a parade! Bolton Landing’s Memorial Day parade shouldn’t be missed. Line the sidewalks of Main Street/NY-9N around 10 a.m. and watch the firetrucks, veterans, marching bands, sports teams, and local business owners drive or walk by. The parade starts at Rogers Memorial Park and ends at Veterans Memorial Park. Following the parade, hang out in Veterans Memorial Park for a memorial service, hot dogs, and music by DJ Andy Pratt.
Shoppers and browsers will love the Bolton Emergency Squad Arts & Crafts Festival. About 30 vendors selling a huge assortment of crafts and goods line up in the Cross Street Parking lot, behind the Town Hall’s parking lot. The Bolton Emergency Squad Arts & Crafts Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th through Sunday, May 26th.
Another way to celebrate Memorial Day is with a cruise on one of the Lake George Steamboat Company’s boats, the Mohican, the Minne Ha-Ha, and the Lac du Saint Sacrement. A cruise on Lake George is the perfect way to experience the stunning beauty of Lake George. Veterans and active service members are invited to take a free cruise on one of the ships as long as they purchase lunch. The Lake George Steamboat Company will sail the one-hour Minne Ha-Ha cruise, the Mohican Islands of the Narrows cruise, and the Lac du Saint Sacrement lunch cruise on Memorial Day.
Bolton Landing on Lake George will be busy all weekend long. Serendipity Boutique’s grand reopening event will take place May 24th-26th. This free event at their new location will feature specials, discounts, and refreshments. The first 100 guests receive a free gift! Those who love hiking and the outdoors should join the Lake George Land Conservancy at Amy’s Park for “Beavers: Engineering America.” This guided hike through Amy’s Park will teach participants the history and importance of the beaver.
