Looking at the calendar and seeing we are almost halfway through August doesn’t seem possible. And what a great summer it’s been. However, here in beautiful Bolton landing on Lake George, it’s far from over. There is still plenty of time to enjoy a swim at our wonderful beaches, Rogers Memorial and Veteran’s Memorial parks, explore Lake George by boat at one of our marinas, kayak with Lake George Kayak or F.R. Smith and Sons Marina, being your own captain or sitting back and letting a tour guide take you to special spots for an island picnic, with beautiful scenery, or moments of solitude with Love is on Lake George Cruises or Bolton Boat Tours or aboard the Morgan. What is your favorite activity while visiting?
Be sure to take some time to stop at any number of great dining choices, and stroll the town shops and boutiques for that special gift or memento. Live music can be found at several restaurants, and in Rogers Park every Tuesday evening , along with family movies on Wednesday, bring a blanket or chairs, snack and you’ll be assured of a good time.
Don’t forget the Bolton Library Gala “ Dancing Under the Stars”, Aug 20, 5 – 10 pm at Roger Park Pier. And we still have an Arts and Craft Show, August 13 and 14, September 3 and 4, October 8 and 9 now located in the parking lot behind the Town Hall.
For anyone who hasn’t stopped yet to see our new Visitors Center, please stop in to say Hello, pick up publications and brochures from our members and activities ( www.boltonchamber.com ), local hiking maps provided by the Lake George Land Conservancy, the Town of Bolton recreation schedule. Some of our visitors just like to take a break in the air conditioning looking out at our mountain view, or flower gardens. You may see the town gardener, Amy, working her magic.
