January and February in Bolton Landing on Lake George always bring some of the most anticipated activities of the year – events on ice. Three separate events embrace the cold and ice of the season to ensure visitors to Bolton Landing have a great time in the southern Adirondacks. The Sagamore’s Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge, the Inn at Erlowest’s Winterfest, and the town of Bolton’s Bolton on Ice are the perfect reasons to embrace the cold and visit Bolton Landing in the winter.
The Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge at The Sagamore is a marvelous introduction to the magic of ice bars. 18,000 pounds are transformed by expert ice carvers into a stunning ice bar and interactive ice sculptures. This year’s theme is the Roaring ‘20s! Step up to the swanky bar, order a hand-crafted cocktail or two, and enjoy the gorgeous views of Lake George. Once you’ve had enough of the cold, step inside the historic hotel for hors d’oeuvres at Caldwell’s Lobby Bar or an authentic Italian meal at La Bella Vita. The Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge will be held on January 24-25 and January 31-February 1.
After you’ve had a few drinks at the Glacier Ice Bar, head into the town of Bolton Landing on Lake George for their Bolton on Ice event. Restaurants on the main drag will be open and offer the perfect spots to warm up with a meal. Stroll the streets and stop in at the various shops to find antiques, children’s gifts, clothing, and more. Bolton on Ice will be held on January 24-25 and January 31-February 1.
Another way to enjoy the winter weather is at the Winterfest at Erlowest event. While not an ice bar, there are plenty of reasons to check out Winterfest. Guests can enjoy signature cocktails, cozy up to the fires on the outdoor patio and terrace, snack on a s’more or two, and shop local business offerings in the ballroom. There will be live music all Saturday long. Winterfest at Erlowest will be held on February 1-2.
