Meet children’s book author, Catherine Zampier of East Greenbush, NY! She was inspired to write her story after listening to her mother’s adventures as one of thirteen children to immigrant parents. A graduate of The College of Saint Rose, Catherine has worked for over twenty years in elementary education. She has a special place in her heart for picture books; they really are for all ages. She is also a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. In her spare time, you might find her dragon boating, trying new recipes, playing pickleball, or traveling, and (of course) writing.
Her book, One of Thirteen, illustrated by Robert Wayne Bode, is based on true events and adventures which often spark discussions about large families.
Come share and discuss your large family stories of an earlier era and how we can bring them to life for today’s children. Catherine will also discuss her experience with publishing for future authors. (www.CatherineZampier.com)
