LIVING LANDS SERIES: THE HISTORY OF THE LG STEAMBOAT COMPANY WITH PATRICIA DOW
July 25, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pmFree
Patricia Dow, LG Steamboat Vice President, will talk about the Steamboat’s 200 year history on Lake George, including pictures of the Steamboat boats through the years, maps of the traditional routes of the boats, and photos of some of the old hotels and docks LG Steamboat boats used to stop at to collect passengers.
Patricia’s husband Bill Dow, President of the company, has been involved in the Company since the early 1960’s, since his father, Wilbur Dow, purchased the Steamboat Company after World War II. Bill is the visionary who imagined the Minne Ha Ha and the Saint Sacrement, and supervised their construction. We have him to thank for their presence and loveliness gracing the lake.
Join us every Wednesday evening (except for July 4) starting June 27th as the Lake George Land Conservancy, along with Stewart’s Shops, presents our FREE summer series Living Lands. This weekly presentation series will take an exclusive and up-close look at the wildlife and people who utilize the land of Lake George and the Adirondacks, past and present! Presentations begin at 5:30 pm and are held at the LGLC office in Bolton Landing.
Registration is required and is available at www.lglc.org.
Many thanks to Stewart’s Shops for sponsoring our 2018 series!
