Living Lands: Self-Sufficiency in the Adirondacks

August 30 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Join the Lake George Land Conservancy for our Living Lands summer presentation series. Each week, we will take an exclusive and up-close look at the people, history, and wildlife of the lands of Lake George and the Adirondacks, past and present.

This week will feature a talk by Samantha LaFond, a modern-day woodswoman excelling at self-sufficiency in the Adirondacks. Samantha was born and raised in the foothills of the Adirondacks and spent a decade in Alaska where she learned hunting was not only a sport but a way to survive. Samantha is an entrepreneur living in North Creek where she depends on hunting not only to put food on the table for herself and her family but to make a living through her taxidermy business.
