Living Lands: Lake George Colonial History

August 17, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free

Some historians have questioned the moniker of hero when describing Sir William Johnson’s role in the Battle of Lake George, but there is no doubt that Sir William had a tremendous impact on the military success of the British in the French and Indian War and was greatly influential in the ongoing relationship between the British and the Iroquois of the Mohawk Valley. This program by Blake Smith will explore the role of Sir William in the Battle of Lake George but will also delve deeper into the man who was certainly a complicated and fascinating individual.

Join Blake Smith is a history teacher at Canajohaire High School and host of the podcast, Stories Past for Sir William Johnson- Hero of Lake George?
