Bolton Landing Fishing

Fishing on Lake George

Once you have relaxed among the beautiful mountain surroundings with thick green growth and by the crystal clear waters of the Bolton Landing area of Lake George, try some Adirondack and Lake George fishing! The opportunities are numerous no matter what type of fishing you are interested in.

During the summer months, just fish off a dock with a nightcrawler and watch a child’s face light up when they hook a bass, sunfish or crappie — This would probably be the highlight of many a stay in our area! If you take your fishing more serious, within a few miles reach there are opportunities for fly fishing, down rigger trolling or serious bass fishing.

Lake George has some of the best lake trout and land-locked salmon fishing in the northeast. The bass fishing is second to none during the summer months, with 1 ½ pound to 4 pounders not unusual. The lakers caught are up to 20 pounds with a nice land-locked salmon coming in at around 4 pounds. The fishing is good from ice out (mid-April) through November.

When winter comes, out come the ice shanties! The ice fishing on Lake George is tremendous. Some of the area tackle shops actually do more business in the winter than in the summer, and best yet, as a year-round comminity, Bolton Landing is still open for business.

More specific information is available at the Chamber or at any of the local tackle shops.

So with all this beauty and fishing opportunities around, take a day go fishing on Lake George. Be careful and have fun.
