Did you know that the gateway to the Islands of Lake
George is through beautiful Bolton Landing, just outside the
village of Lake George?
The Lake George islands are well forested and private,
providing a rustic getaway for a day, an overnight or a
week. Visitors can pitch a tent for the night, take a dip in
the cool, clear waters of
Lake George, or relax and picnic with friends and loved
ones among the pines. Watch a spectacular sunset as evening
settles in around you.
There are 387 shoreline campsites and 116 day use or picnic sites located on 44 state owned islands.
Campers have the choice of staying on a larger island
including over 90 sites, or a smaller private island with
only one or two sites. All sites have a dock for at least
one boat, a fireplace, a picnic table and toilet facilities.
You must rent or bring a boat or hire a water taxi, (there are several
marinas in Bolton Landing, for more info click on Services). Most provisions are available for sale in Bolton Landing
