The Lake George islands are well forested and private, providing a rustic getaway for a day, an overnight or a week. There are 387 shoreline campsites and 116 day use or picnic sites located on 44 state owned islands. Campers have the choice of staying on a larger island including over 90 sites, or a smaller private island with only one or two sites. All sites have a dock for at least one boat, a fireplace, a picnic table and toilet facilities.
You must rent or bring a boat or hire a water taxi, (there are several marinas in Bolton Landing, for more info click on Services). Most provisions are available for sale in Bolton Landing including ice, water, food, gas, and firewood.
