You can experience some great Adirondack hiking from the Bolton Landing area. While the Adirondack High Peaks remain a popular destination, the Bolton Landing area has some of the best trails in the Lake George region!
Ranging from easy lakeshore day hikes to strenuous mountain climbs, there are trails for people of all abilities and some great choices for families. One of the most popular trail systems is the Tongue Mountain Range. This system consists of approximately 25 miles of trails with many spectacular views of the lake and mountain ranges. Backpacker magizine has rated this as a favorite hike in the northeastern region, (Feb.2005).
The Lake George Land Conservancy also has many trails in the area that are open to the public. More information and trail maps can be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office in town.
Strap up your bootlaces, grap a map, enjoy the trails and view Lake George from a whole new vantage point!
