Marquis Louis-Joseph de Montcalm used the shores of Bolton Landing on Lac Saint-Sacrament (Lake George) as a rendezvous point in August 1757 for French troops coming by land and water to advance on Fort William Henry, also known as Fort George. Bolton Landing served as the strategic meeting point for the French as they struggled for power and control of the important waterway. Join us on June 16th & 17th 2012 as reenactors set up camp on this historic ground and experience life in the 18th century at Rogers Park. French Soldiers, British Soldiers, Native Americans, woman, and children will all be dressed in 18th century clothing bringing the town alive and providing a unique opportunity to immerse your family in a time period that can only truly be experienced in person to understand the will and strength of the people fighting for freedom in this new world. This is an amazing educational opportunity that will be remembered much longer than reading about it from a textbook or historical novel. Enjoy demonstrations using 18th century muskets, naval vessels, camping, and cooking utensils. Sutler, 18th century merchants, will be selling supplies and provisions necessary for survival.

The North Country Triathlon is a yearly event located in the hamlet of Hague, approximately 15 miles north of Bolton Landing. Lake George provides a spectacular landscape for the Sprint Distance Race 750m swim, 20k ride, and 5k run, or the Olympic Distance Race 1.5k swim, 40k ride, and 10K run. The amazingly beautiful location and challenging course make this the premiere triathlon in upstate New York. Come on out and join us for the best race in the region!
